AWS Thailand Region and AWS Mexico Region are comprised of three availability zone each. As every new region so far, most of the common services are available, while the rest are on the way. Except for Asia's big Cloud players, Alibaba and Huawei that already have Bangkok datacenteres, AWS is the first to open a regional datacenter in Thailand, GCP having one announced. Azure, Oracle, IBM don't have a regional DC presecence at this moment.
Since 2020, AWS has built six edge locations in Thailand , helping customers cache content closer to their users. AWS Local Zones in Bangkok and AWS Outposts are available as well.

"The new AWS Region will help startups, enterprises, government agencies, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations run their applications and serve end users while maintaining data residency in Thailand. This aligns with Thailand's digital transformation goals and the growing demand for cloud services," the Cloud company added.
Major players in the FinTech ( 2C2P, Ascend Money) and eCommmerce (aCommerce) businesses are leveraging AWS services in Thailand as we speak.
AWS has operated infrastructure in Mexico since 2020. The infrastructure includes seven Amazon CloudFront edge locations, AWS Outposts, and strategic offerings such as AWS Local Zones in Queretaro and AWS Direct Connect. These infrastructure offerings help customers run low-latency applications while maintaining secure connectivity.
The city of Querétaro , where AWS Mexico is located, has become one main tech investment center. Google GCP launched a cloud data center in Querétaro in December, while Microsoft Azure spun up a server farm in the city last May.
During the announcement of the start of AWS operations in the country, the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo , highlighted that this project will boost other investments; the new data center complex, she said, represents development opportunities for national companies; in addition to job opportunities for Mexican specialists, from engineers to mathematicians.
"We are very proud of the moment we are living in. The investment presented today shows precisely that Mexico, not only has a great present, but also a great future" the Mexican president noted.
